A blogpost on bloggers, blogging.

I chose to read about Bruce Schneier, and what I gathered from his post was essentially that he blogs for fun and for current information purposes. He used to do a monthly newsletter based on information he was finding. He would compile it into his letter and send it off that way. One of the issues with that is that his information would already be known and essentially old news. To publish old news will not keep viewers viewing. He transitioned to a blog to keep his information fresh and current and compiles his blog posts into monthly news letters in which he still sends out.

The information he blogs about is essentially security, thus having the name Schneier on Security. He makes no money off of his blog and claims he will try to keep it that way as long as possible, be cause he has a job and a salary. His message to new bloggers is to just do it and to not worry about being boring. This is a useful message because all you are really doing is talking about things that interest you, so if it is fun to you, then it doesn't matter what other people think.
